I am on the organizing committee for a scientific conference in honor of a mentor of mine, Bernard Schutz to be held in Italy.  Entitled BFS80, it celebrates "An 80 Year Worldline of Discovery" in relativity, astrophysics, cosmology, computing, publishing, and more.

I am also on the DOE Office of Science Advisory Committee, which will be writing a report on the future of DOE's science and engineering efforts in the next decade, including its facilities, its quantum computing initiative, and importantly its role as the lead U.S. government agency for the Genesis Mission in AI.  It is an exciting time to be involved in such work!

Speaking of AI, I am just getting started in a project to develop recommendations for higher education in AI through the National Association of Higher Education Systems and its AI Advisory Board.  Stay tuned for more as we get going.
